The Business of Events : UK Policy Forum, took place on Wednesday 8th November, during International Trade Week at:

IET London: Savoy Place
2 Savoy Place
Westminster, London
WC2R 0BL

This invitation-only forum brought together over 200 business event sector leaders, policymakers, politicians, government officials, media and industry stakeholders to discuss development of a long-term Policy Agenda which ultimately grows the business events industry through trade, exports and investment.

The strong line-up of speakers included:

  • BBC Newsnight Political Editor Nicholas Watt
  • Major event producer Martin Green CBE
  • Identity’s Michael Gietzen
  • Theresa Villiers MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events
  • Shonali Devereaux, moderator

The UK Policy Forum was held in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, VisitBritain, and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events.

The outcome of the event will be a summary report which will be submitted to Government and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events and will be shared widely with the industry. This will then be discussed among The Business of Events Advisory Council and will contribute towards the development of a policy agenda for the events industry.

Our signature UK Policy Forum for 2024 will again be held in Westminster – more details to follow over the coming months.
